A final word on Warren Cowan, the Hollywood publicist who died at age 87.

Author Ray Robinson, who had known him since their grammar-school days at PS 165 on the Upper West Side, recalls that many years ago, over lunch in Manhattan, Cowan told him, "I just got great news."

Frank Sinatra, whom Cowan had represented for 30 years, had just fired him.

"It will prolong my life," said Cowan - and it did.
