Katie Holmes Confirmed for Starring Role on Broadway

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Holmes will appear with John Lithgow and Patrick Wilson in ‘All My Sons’

By Matthew B. Zeidman

NEW YORK (Hollywood Today)

6/18/08 –

After weeks of speculation, it has been confirmed by the show’s producers that Katie Holmes will indeed be starring in the Broadway revival of “All My Sons” alongside sci-fi notables John Lithgow and Patrick Wilson.

Manhattan’s Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre will be the site of the production, which will begin rehearsals in August, open for previews on Sept. 18 and run from Oct. 16 to Jan. 11.

The Arthur Miller play, based on a true story, premiered in 1947.

It ran for 328 performances and won a Tony Award for Best Play and Tony Award for Best Direction of a Play (Elia Kazan).

Lithgow will portray the central character, Joe Keller, who (before the play begins) directly contributes to the deaths of several American World War II pilots by selling the U.S. military damaged airplane components.

He frames his business partner, Steven Deever, whose daughter will be played by Holmes, 29.

The original stage production starred Ed Begley and Karl Malden.

It was first adapted into a film in 1948, featuring Edward G. Robinson and Burt Lancaster, and again (as a made-for-TV movie) in 1986, starring Joan Allen.

P.Diddy Likes Smooth Chocolate Balls

Published by Carolina on June 18th, 2008 (4 hours ago)

After P. Diddy admitted that he waxes his privates, my virgin eyes will never be able to look at him the same way.

He told the Daily Mail,

While I’m getting ready I like to relax with a drink - vodka and lemonade - and listen to some James Brown.

Then I’ll have a manicure and pedicure - and yes, I wax as well. Men owe it to women to make sure they are well-groomed.

I wax my privates. I also wear my fragrance, Unforgivable Black.

Koi Suwannagate

To hear Nunthirat “Koi” Suwannagate tell it, she has two workspaces:

first, her studio and production space in the Boyle Heights district of Los Angeles and, second, her backyard garden in Silver Lake.

The latter suits this Thai designer perfectly, since she culls most of her inspiration from nature.

Her fall collection was based on a fantasy Suwannagate created involving sunsets, hummingbirds and a lady in the woods.

But she’s also built her reputation on elaborately constructed appliqués—those gorgeously intricate rosettes, for example—that toe the line between art and fashion.

“It’s all handcrafted,” she says.

“You can’t replace that.”

Hers is a definite sculptor’s hand, and it’s a skill she has playfully imparted to her nine-year-old son.

“We make sculptures together in clay,” Suwannagate notes.

“He makes the head, I make a dress; he makes one foot, and I make the other.” —

Comedienne Tenuta Now Ordained Minister to Marry ‘Gay Love Slaves’

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today)

Grammy-nominated, award-winning Comedienne Judy “The Love Goddess” Tenuta is now free to marry her legions of gay fans.

Tenuta just became an ordained minister in California so she can marry gay couples in a special union she calls “Judyism.”

On Jun. 16, California officially became the second state to allow same-sex marriages.

Tenuta is ready to add her Love Goddess touch to same- sex ceremonies and says it’s her way of giving back to her “gay love slaves” and “lesbetarians” who have always supported her.

As a minister, Tenuta will write special “Judyism” vows for gay couples.

She explains, “They must promise to say ‘I love you’ once a day, hold hands, and if they go to bed angry, they must have really hot hate sex to make up.”

Tenuta is open to performing both gay and lesbian marriages, and anticipates that gay men will be Bridezillas since they like things perfect.

Lesbians, however, will be easier because as she puts it, “Lesbian couples don’t care.

They’ll get married after a softball game in the back of a pick-up truck!”

Tenuta is also hoping to marry celebrity gays including RuPaul and Carson Kressley, and may even marry Dennis Rodman to himself.

By Kat Kramer

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today)

6/18/08 –

On June 25, the USA Network will air the American Film Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award to Warren Beatty.

For those in the room, it was truly an evening to remember.

Beatty is the 36th recipient of the prestigious award given by AFI to those individuals who advanced the art of film.

Warren Beatty is one of the most deserving.

An actor/producer/director and political activist, the black-tie ceremony brought out luminaries from the worlds of Hollywood, politics, and music.

Among those in attendance included Steven Spielberg, Dustin Hoffman, Faye Dunaway, Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Quentin Tarantino, Robert Downey, Jr.,

Jack Nicholson (who arrived late from the hot Lakers game – but the Lakers lost) and Al Pacino, who received the award last year, and presented Beatty the award.

The big surprise of the evening was Bill Clinton, who got a standing ovation when he took to the stage of The Kodak.

He told the industry – heavy crowd, “I saw ‘Bonnie And Clyde,’ and it made me feel grateful that I had found a less lethal way to escape rural poverty and obscurity.

I later learned it was only slightly less lethal.”

Other politicians who spoke about Warren included George McGovern, Jerry Brown, and Garry Hart.

Barbra Streisand, an activist herself, sent a taped message.

Music was represented by the presence of MC Hammer, Solomon Burke, and Randy Scruggs.

Don Cheadle and Halle Berry reminisced about “Bullworth,” and Hoffman joked about the up-coming late arrival of Nicholson, who followed President Clinton.

Beatty sat on the dias in between wife Annette Bening and sister Shirley MacLaine.

Some of his best loved films include “Bonnie And Clyde,” “Reds,” “Splendor In The Grass,” “Shampoo,” “Heaven Can Wait,” and “Bugsy.”

After the nearly four hour long show, guests retrieved their large gift bags, which included the Warren Beatty film collection and a Hewlett-Packard digital picture frame.

They partied all night long at The Highlands night club.

Beatty, who was clearly moved by the honor, greeted guests at the after-party until the wee hours of the night.

Bonnie Hammer, the head of USA Networks was recently honored by the Anti-defamation League.
